Beyond Wrestling's Wrestling Open returned to the White Eagle in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Thursday, October 29, with championship competition, developing rivalries, and a Halloween Hardcore main event.
The evening's most significant controversy involved Allie Katch and Wrestling Open Women's Champion Kylie Alexa, whose championship encounter ended without the title changing hands.
Allie Katch Wins, but Kylie Alexa Remains Champion
Allie Katch defeated Kylie Alexa by disqualification in their Wrestling Open Women's Championship match.
Unfortunately for Katch, winning the match wasn't enough to capture the championship. Alexa retained her title under the standard rule that championships do not change hands following a disqualification.
It's one of professional wrestling's more frustrating technicalities, particularly when you're the challenger.
You can leave the ring with your hand raised, but the person who lost still gets to take the championship home.
That raises an obvious question: Should Katch receive another opportunity, potentially under stipulations designed to prevent the same outcome?
Bustah And The Brain Retain
Alec Price and Jordan Oliver, collectively known as Bustah And The Brain, successfully defended the IWTV Independent Wrestling Tag Team Championships against Waves And Curls, represented by Jaylen Brandyn and Traevon Jordan.
Their victory continued their championship reign and reinforced the importance of established tag teams within the independent wrestling landscape.

Independent Wrestling Deserves the Spotlight:
Professional wrestling's independent scene continues to provide opportunities for competitors to develop their craft, establish identities, and build meaningful connections with audiences.
Having worked within the industry, I understand how valuable those opportunities can be. Not every important victory happens in front of a national television audience, and not every compelling rivalry needs a multi-million-dollar production budget.
Sometimes, all you need is a ring, an invested audience, and competitors who understand how to tell a story.
Wrestling Open continues to provide that platform, and offers another reason to keep watching...
