WWE Raw Results: 946 Strikes The Bloodline, Oba Femi Gets Bronson Reed at Money in the Bank
Monday Night Raw rolled into Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with Money in the Bank drawing closer, but before WWE moved forward with the evening’s storylines, the company took a moment to acknowledge the loss felt throughout professional wrestling.
WWE opened the September 28 episode with a memorial graphic honoring Benjamin Satterley, known to WWE fans as Neville and around the wrestling world as PAC. Satterley passed away at the age of 40. It was a simple gesture, but an important one as tributes continue to pour in from across the industry.
From there, Raw turned its attention toward Money in the Bank and several increasingly volatile rivalries.
Lola Vice Defeats Roxanne Perez - Lola Vice picked up a significant victory over fellow Money in the Bank competitor Roxanne Perez in singles action. The issues didn't end with the bell. Perez and Raquel Rodriguez attacked Vice and Sol Ruca following the match, adding another layer of tension between women who could soon find themselves fighting over the Money in the Bank briefcase. It's been a rough week of wrestling for Perez after her loss against La Catalina and now Lola Vice. This may possibly give a good edge for Perez adding a chip on her shoulder and a great opportunity for a story-line that I can see go several ways. From a story-telling perspective, this presents several interesting avenues for Perez, adding some extra character depth while strengthening the division as a whole around her.
Dragon Lee Stops Big Cass - Dragon Lee faced Big Cass and managed to overcome the considerable size disadvantage to pick up the victory. The win was another strong moment for Lee after the past several weeks have kept him firmly involved in Raw's increasingly crowded landscape heading toward Money in the Bank.
Oba Femi vs. Bronson Reed Is Official - Oba Femi didn't waste much time getting to the point when it came to The Vision. After weeks of issues between Femi and the faction, The Ruler called out Bronson Reed and pushed for the two powerhouses to settle things inside the ring. They'll get that opportunity at Money in the Bank.
Femi and Reed signed the contract on Raw, officially setting their first singles encounter for WWE Money in the Bank on October 10 in New Orleans.
There is something inherently intriguing about putting two men like Reed and Femi across the ring from one another. Neither is accustomed to being physically overwhelmed, and now one of them is going to have to find out what happens when sheer force is met with sheer force.
IYO SKY Defeats Lyra Valkyria - IYO SKY scored the victory over Lyra Valkyria despite Bayley becoming a factor during the match. The result continues the complicated situation surrounding SKY, Valkyria and Bayley while keeping IYO moving forward with another victory. I'd like to see more depth and reason added to Bayley's character going forward especially with how long Bayley has been integral to the WWE women's divisions.
Stephanie Vaquer Makes Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan Official - Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer finally provided some clarity regarding the two women who have been pursuing her championship. Instead of simply choosing between Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan, Vaquer announced that Lynch and Morgan will face one another next week on Raw, with the winner earning the Women's World Championship opportunity against Vaquer at Money in the Bank.
That leaves one final obstacle between Lynch and Morgan and the championship match both have been demanding. I actually like seeing this as it gives fans an added reason to tune in and not just taking viewership for granted assuming people will just tone in because it's WWE. I also like this choice because it feels more legitimate forcing two of WWE's bigger female stars to compete for the right to go for the title. It adds stakes and more tension as opposed to just throwing together a Triple Threat for the title without sufficient enough build-up. Purpose and emotion make money in wrestling and this could do both!
LA Knight Sends Another Message to Roman Reigns - LA Knight continued building toward one of the biggest opportunities of his career as he addressed World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. Knight spoke about fighting his way through a system he believes wasn't designed for him to reach the top, arguing that politics, numbers and Reigns himself have stood between him and the championship.
Now he gets another opportunity to prove none of it can stop him.
Knight challenges Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank on October 10. I'm very interested in this unfolding story-line as both are blurring the lines in an almost tangible way that could make for some great vignettes and TV as we head to Money in the Bank.
Penta & Je'Von Evans Defeat Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh - Penta and Je'Von Evans joined forces against Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh. Joe Hendry ultimately became a factor in the match, distracting Judgment Day and helping create the opening for Penta and Evans to secure the victory.
With Penta already qualified for the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match, every confrontation this close to the event feels like another opportunity to gain momentum.
Rey Fenix Puts the AAA Cruiserweight Championship in Play. Rey Fenix also made his intentions clear regarding the AAA Cruiserweight Championship. Fenix revealed that he plans to defend the championship across brands, with Ethan Page lined up as his first challenger.
It's an interesting development following WWE and AAA's increasingly intertwined relationship and gives the championship an opportunity to become considerably more visible across WWE programming. I've been a huge fan of Lucha Bros for years so seeing them thrive has been a very cool experience to watch especially after the huge pop they got at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide!
The Bloodline and 946 Erupt - But Raw's increasingly personal conflict between The Bloodline and 946 remained one of the night's biggest stories. The issues between the two sides have escalated dramatically in recent weeks, culminating with Royce Keys, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price abducting Solo Sikoa on last week's Raw.
Jacob Fatu and The Usos made it clear they weren't prepared to allow that to go unanswered. The situation eventually erupted again as The Bloodline and 946 collided, pushing the rivalry beyond threats and warnings and further into outright chaos. The program also brought Jaida Parker into the orbit of the ongoing conflict, giving the story another unexpected wrinkle as WWE continues developing the 946 faction. Jaida Parker revealed her allegiance to 946 in dramatic fashion, getting behind the wheel and running down Jacob Fatu with a car. It was a hell of a way to close Raw—and suddenly this war feels a whole lot bigger than The Bloodline ever anticipated.
With Money in the Bank now less than two weeks away, Raw left Milwaukee with several pieces firmly in place—but perhaps even more questions than answers.
