TAELER: WWE NXT Halloween Havoc Results (10/31/26): Grayson Waller Retains, CM Punk Challenges and Kelani Jordan Survives

Halloween arrived at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, October 31, and NXT celebrated with championship matches, questionable decisions, plenty of weapons, and a few surprises that could have lasting consequences.

With Danhausen hosting the festivities, NXT Halloween Havoc delivered six matches, including two championship defenses and a main event that ultimately left Grayson Waller standing tall. However, the biggest development of the evening may have come after the final bell, when CM Punk emerged as Waller's next challenger.

Because apparently surviving Tony D'Angelo wasn't enough punishment for one evening.

Myles Borne Defeats Tavion Heights in a Weapons Wild Match

The evening opened with Myles Borne and Tavion Heights embracing Halloween through a Weapons Wild Match, complete with costumes inspired by Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger.

Both competitors took advantage of the stipulation, incorporating chairs, tables, and other objects into an increasingly physical encounter. Heights targeted Borne's ankle, attempting to weaken his opponent through punishment and submission holds, but Borne ultimately prevailed after sending Heights through a table and finishing him with Borne Again.

Borne's victory extended his undefeated record against Heights to four consecutive wins.

From a wrestler's perspective, there's something worth examining about that statistic. A rivalry can certainly elevate both competitors, but repeated victories eventually raise an important question: what does the losing wrestler gain from continuing the same fight?

Heights has undeniable athletic ability, and I'd like to see that talent translated into meaningful momentum rather than another opportunity to prove he can absorb punishment.

Izzi Dame Defeats Zaria

Izzi Dame secured a significant victory over Zaria in a competitive encounter that featured plenty of physical offense and some unusual mind games.

Zaria demonstrated her power throughout the contest, including a spear that appeared capable of ending the match. However, the closing sequence involved the North American Championship belt and a distraction that allowed Dame to capitalize with a running knee for the pinfall victory.

Following the match, Dame indicated that she wanted a championship opportunity.

Now, here's where I have a question.

If the championship was the ultimate objective, why wasn't it on the line in the first place?

Professional wrestling thrives when victories have consequences. Dame's win gives her a legitimate argument for a future opportunity, but the storytelling needs to make that opportunity feel earned rather than conveniently postponed.

Zilla Fatu Defeats Charlie Dempsey in a Very Nice, Very Evil Match

Danhausen's Halloween influence became particularly apparent when the wheel landed on a Very Nice, Very Evil Match, a stipulation allowing falls anywhere with no disqualifications.

Charlie Dempsey attempted to impose his technical wrestling style on Zilla Fatu, but Fatu's power and willingness to embrace the chaos proved difficult to overcome.

The contest also involved interference and confrontations with members of Dempsey's associates before Fatu ultimately secured the victory with a splash.

Fatu continues to demonstrate the intimidating physical presence associated with his family's wrestling legacy. However, carrying a recognizable surname is only the beginning. Establishing an identity that audiences recognize independently is what transforms a promising performer into a lasting attraction.

Kelani Jordan Retains the NXT Women's Championship Against Wren Sinclair

Kelani Jordan successfully defended the NXT Women's Championship against Wren Sinclair, although the finish provided plenty of material for discussion.

Sinclair challenged the champion with technical offense and submission attempts, repeatedly forcing Jordan to find an escape. Jordan answered with athleticism, counters, and a 450 splash, but Sinclair continued fighting.

Ultimately, Jordan escaped with a pinfall victory after using the ropes for leverage.

A successful championship defense doesn't always have to be decisive, particularly when a champion is willing to exploit an opportunity. However, finishes like this should influence how audiences view both competitors moving forward.

Sinclair demonstrated that she could challenge the champion technically, while Jordan proved that retaining a championship sometimes involves considerably more than executing the prettiest move.

The question now becomes whether Sinclair receives another opportunity or whether Jordan's controversial victory closes the door on their rivalry.

Shiloh Hill Defeats Naraku

Shiloh Hill and Naraku continued NXT's Halloween atmosphere with a contest incorporating supernatural elements and theatrical presentation.

Naraku attempted to use his signature mist, but Hill countered with a cloud of his own before securing the pinfall victory with Whisper to the Beast.

Professional wrestling has always made room for characters that embrace the unusual, and Halloween Havoc provides a natural setting for that creativity.

The challenge, of course, is making sure the spectacle enhances the performers rather than overshadowing them. When character development and in-ring storytelling complement one another, even the strangest concepts can become memorable.

Grayson Waller Retains the NXT Championship Against Tony D'Angelo

The evening's main event brought the NXT Championship into focus as Grayson Waller defended against Tony D'Angelo.

D'Angelo approached the contest with the aggression expected from a competitor determined to reclaim championship glory, while Waller demonstrated his familiar willingness to exploit every available advantage.

The action eventually spilled outside the ring, where Waller delivered a devastating cutter through the announce table. Inside the ring, a referee collision created an opportunity for D'Angelo to connect with a spear, but there was nobody available to count the pinfall.

Waller capitalized on the confusion, striking D'Angelo with a crowbar before finishing him with his rolling stunner to retain the championship.

It wasn't exactly a demonstration of honorable competition, but Waller has never built his reputation around winning popularity contests.

And while some fans may dislike the circumstances, a champion who consistently finds ways to survive can become increasingly difficult to dethrone.

CM Punk Emerges as Grayson Waller's Next Challenger

Just when Waller appeared ready to celebrate another successful championship defense, Danhausen revealed that CM Punk would challenge him for the NXT Championship on the November 4 episode of NXT.

That announcement immediately changed the conversation surrounding the championship.

Punk brings experience, star power, and an established reputation, while Waller has developed into a champion capable of generating considerable attention through his personality and willingness to antagonize opponents.

The matchup presents an intriguing contrast between a veteran who understands the psychology of championship wrestling and a younger competitor determined to prove that he belongs at the top.

But here's what interests me most: does bringing Punk into the championship picture elevate the existing NXT roster, or does it risk shifting attention away from the performers who have been building the division?

The answer will depend on what happens after the match, not simply who walks away with the championship.

Additional NXT Developments

Halloween Havoc also established several upcoming developments. The Vanity Project was scheduled to face Rey Fenix, Dragon Lee, and Chad Gable on the November 4 episode of NXT, while WWE announced that NXT TLC would take place on December 12.

The upcoming TLC event gives the brand another opportunity to build meaningful rivalries around stipulations that demand both physical commitment and compelling storytelling.

Final Thoughts: Halloween Havoc Delivered Results, but What Comes Next Matters More

NXT Halloween Havoc offered a mixture of physical encounters, championship drama, unusual characters, and future storyline developments.

Myles Borne continued his dominance over Tavion Heights, Izzi Dame positioned herself for another championship opportunity, Zilla Fatu strengthened his momentum, and Kelani Jordan retained her title through controversial circumstances.

Meanwhile, Grayson Waller escaped Halloween with the NXT Championship, only to discover that CM Punk would be waiting for him.

Having spent years inside the wrestling industry, I believe the most important measure of a show isn't simply how many memorable moments it produces. It's whether those moments create meaningful reasons for audiences to return.

Halloween Havoc certainly established several possibilities.

Now NXT has to capitalize on them.
