TNA Impact Results 10/8/26: The Hardys Fall Short, Shayna Baszler Arrives and syX Strikes Before Bound for Glory

TNA Impact returned Thursday night from the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas, with one final opportunity to get everybody pointed toward Bound for Glory.

Apparently, pointing them toward Sunday wasn't enough.

Somebody needed to get knocked unconscious along the way.

The Hardys attempted to reclaim the TNA World Tag Team Championships from Nic and Ryan Nemeth, Elayna Black came dangerously close to capturing the Knockouts Television Championship, and the Call Your Shot Gauntlet received two very important entry numbers.

Oh, and Shayna Baszler is coming to Bound for Glory.

Because apparently the Knockouts tag team division wasn't dangerous enough already.

But the night's most unsettling development came during the closing moments, when syX made another statement at the expense of the Hardys and Leon Slater.

The Nemeth Brothers Retain Against the Hardys

Matt and Jeff Hardy opened Thursday's episode promising to reclaim the TNA World Tag Team Championships.

The Nemeth Brothers weren't particularly interested in cooperating.

Nic and Ryan interrupted the Hardys, with Nic reminding everyone that he intended to leave Bound for Glory holding both the TNA World Championship and the World Tag Team Championship.

Leon Slater eventually joined the conversation.

Slater is scheduled to challenge Nic for the TNA World Championship on Sunday, but a no-contact clause prevented the two from getting physical before their match.

That didn't stop Slater from reminding Ryan Nemeth that the restriction didn't apply to him.

Later, Slater joined Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt on commentary for the championship main event.

And the Hardys came remarkably close to making good on their promise.

Matt and Jeff controlled portions of the match through their familiar tandem offense, repeatedly isolating Ryan and forcing the champions to regroup.

Jeff eventually connected with a Twist of Fate, while the Nemeth Brothers answered with increasingly aggressive offense of their own.

Nic delivered the Danger Zone, but Jeff survived.

The Hardys fought back, and Jeff climbed to the top rope looking to finish things with the Swanton Bomb.

Then the lights flickered.

Jeff committed to the Swanton anyway.

Nic raised his knees.

Nic Nemeth pinned Jeff Hardy, allowing the Nemeth Brothers to retain the TNA World Tag Team Championships.

And somehow, things got worse.

Following the match, Nic confronted Leon Slater.

The lights went out.

When they returned, Slater was down at ringside.

Another blackout followed.

This time, syX appeared in the ring, standing over the fallen Hardys.

The San Antonio crowd responded with boos.

Meanwhile, Nic stood on the entrance stage holding his championship.

That's quite an image to leave people with three days before your biggest event.

The Nemeth Brothers still have the tag championships.

The Hardys have a Falls Count Anywhere match against syX waiting for them Sunday.

And Leon Slater has a world championship opportunity against a man who just helped ensure his friends won't be arriving at Bound for Glory with another set of titles.

The lights going out was certainly effective.

Although at this point, somebody in TNA might want to consider hiring an electrician.

Shayna Baszler Is Coming to Bound for Glory

One of Thursday's biggest surprises came from the Knockouts division.

TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions Allie and Kiera Hogan defeated Ki Vybes and Alex Gracia in non-title competition.

The champions secured the victory after Allie connected with a Codebreaker, allowing Hogan to follow with Face the Music for the pinfall.

But the bigger development happened afterward.

Allie and Hogan challenged Zoey Serrano to find a partner and face them for the championships at Bound for Glory.

Serrano accepted the challenge.

And she apparently has some very interesting contacts.

Shayna Baszler was revealed as Serrano's partner.

That's not exactly the name you want to hear when you're preparing to defend your championships.

Baszler brings a submission-heavy, physically punishing style that can completely change the psychology of a tag team match.

And from a wrestler's perspective, this is where things get interesting.

You can prepare for an opponent's offense.

You can study their tendencies.

You can develop a strategy for keeping them away from their partner.

But when that opponent specializes in systematically taking apart your limbs?

Your entire approach has to change.

Allie and Hogan wanted a championship defense.

They got one.

And Serrano just made sure it won't be an easy night.

Elayna Black Comes Within Seconds of Winning Gold

Elayna Black challenged M by Elegance for the TNA Knockouts Television Championship in one of the night's most competitive encounters.

The Elegance Brand was prohibited from accompanying the champion at ringside, leaving M to defend her championship without their usual assistance.

Black came prepared.

She attacked aggressively, forcing M into several uncomfortable positions while the champion attempted to slow the pace.

M responded by targeting Black's injured ankle and repeatedly grounding the challenger.

The two exchanged increasingly dangerous offense, with M connecting with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall.

Black eventually avoided a moonsault and began mounting another comeback.

Then came the decisive sequence.

Black connected with the Blackout.

Both women were down.

Black struggled to make the cover.

And when she finally did?

The bell rang.

The match ended in a ten-minute time-limit draw.

M by Elegance retained the Knockouts Television Championship.

Black didn't lose.

But she didn't win the championship either.

And that's an entirely different kind of frustration.

I actually appreciate this finish because it creates a legitimate argument for another match without making the challenger look incapable of beating the champion.

Black had the opportunity.

She simply ran out of time.

There's a difference.

And now the question becomes whether M can survive another encounter without the clock saving her.

Joe Alonzo Earns the Final Entry in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet

Thursday's eight-man tag team match carried significant consequences for Bound for Glory.

Frankie Kazarian, Trey Miguel, Bear Bronson and Elijah faced AJ Francis, Brian Myers, The Home Town Man and Joe Alonzo.

The stipulation was straightforward.

The wrestler securing the winning pinfall would enter Sunday's Call Your Shot Gauntlet at number 20.

The wrestler taking the fall would enter at number one.

That's a pretty significant difference.

Especially in a match where the winner receives a future championship opportunity.

The eight-man encounter became increasingly chaotic, with wrestlers flying around ringside and everybody attempting to position themselves for the decisive fall.

Avery Styles even became involved after Alonzo confronted him at ringside, connecting with a Spiral Tap while the referee was distracted.

But the finish belonged to Alonzo.

Following a series of exchanges involving nearly everyone in the match, Alonzo made a blind tag and capitalized on the confusion.

Joe Alonzo pinned Trey Miguel.

That means Alonzo enters the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at number 20.

Miguel enters at number one.

And anyone who has participated in a battle royal understands exactly how different those two assignments are.

I've competed in plenty of them myself.

There's something exciting about the unpredictability, the constantly changing alliances and the way multiple storylines can collide in the same ring.

But there's also a tremendous physical difference between entering first and entering last.

Alonzo earned himself a considerable advantage.

Miguel?

He has a very long night ahead of him.

Fabian Aichner Defeats KC Navarro

With the vacant TNA X-Division Championship scheduled to be decided at Bound for Glory, Fabian Aichner and KC Navarro met in singles competition.

Cedric Alexander joined commentary to observe the encounter.

Navarro attempted to use his speed and athleticism to counter Aichner's considerable power advantage.

At one point, Navarro launched himself toward Aichner outside the ring.

Aichner caught him.

And promptly suplexed him onto the ring apron.

That's one way to discourage someone from attempting another dive.

Navarro continued fighting, connecting with the 305 and a top-rope splash for a near fall.

But Aichner eventually countered another offensive attempt and delivered Hasta La Vista.

Fabian Aichner defeated KC Navarro via pinfall.

It's a meaningful victory heading into Sunday's championship scramble.

And I particularly appreciate the contrast between these two styles.

The X-Division has never needed to be exclusively about smaller wrestlers.

It's about what competitors can accomplish when they're willing to push beyond expectations.

Aichner brings a completely different physical dimension to that equation.

And Thursday night, that difference mattered.

Order 4 Has One Final Meeting

Mustafa Ali gathered Order 4 for one final confrontation ahead of Sunday's TNA International Championship four-way match.

And apparently nobody had anything particularly nice to say.

Jason Hotch confronted Ali over his treatment of Hotch's family.

John Skyler questioned the loyalty and sacrifices that had defined his relationship with the group.

Tasha Steelz made it clear that she and Special Agent Zero had sacrificed enough.

Ali responded by reminding everyone that he believed they owed their success to him.

He promised to destroy them at Bound for Glory.

There's something particularly interesting about watching a faction collapse when its members begin questioning who actually benefited from their loyalty.

Everybody can call themselves a family when they're winning.

It's considerably harder when the person in charge starts treating everyone else as disposable.

Sunday's championship match now carries much more than the International Championship.

It's about resentment, betrayal and the consequences of allowing one person to believe they created everybody else's success.

Good luck keeping that one orderly.

Xia Brookside and Indi Hartwell Exchange Final Words

TNA Knockouts World Champion Xia Brookside and challenger Indi Hartwell also delivered their final statements before Sunday's championship encounter.

Hartwell reflected on failing to capture the championship at last year's Bound for Glory and the obstacles she has overcome to receive another opportunity.

Brookside wasn't interested in hearing excuses.

The champion accused Hartwell of manipulation and made it clear that she intends to retain her championship.

Hartwell countered by suggesting Brookside was afraid of losing it.

I like this rivalry because both women have understandable motivations.

Hartwell sees Sunday as an opportunity to finally accomplish something that has eluded her.

Brookside sees it as another chance to prove she belongs at the top of the division.

One woman wants to complete her journey.

The other refuses to become somebody else's happy ending.

That's a solid foundation for a championship match.

Additional Bound for Glory Developments

Moose issued an open challenge for Sunday's event, inviting an opponent to step forward against the Face of the Franchise.

The Righteous continued attempting to recruit Harley Hudson ahead of the Call Your Shot Gauntlet.

Ricky Sosa and Eddie Edwards exchanged statements before their upcoming match, with Sosa determined to prove he belongs in TNA and Edwards reminding him exactly how much experience he's bringing into the encounter.

TNA also continued highlighting its upcoming Hall of Fame induction class, including ODB, Amazing Red and Konnan.

And with Bound for Glory just days away, every one of these developments adds another layer to what is shaping up to be an extremely busy Sunday.

TNA Impact Quick Results — October 8, 2026

Allie & Kiera Hogan defeated Ki Vybes & Alex Gracia in a non-title tag team match.

AJ Francis, Brian Myers, The Home Town Man & Joe Alonzo defeated Frankie Kazarian, Trey Miguel, Bear Bronson & Elijah. Joe Alonzo pinned Trey Miguel, earning the number 20 entry in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet. Miguel will enter first.

Fabian Aichner defeated KC Navarro via pinfall following Hasta La Vista.

TNA World Tag Team Championship: Nic & Ryan Nemeth (c) defeated Matt & Jeff Hardy to retain. Nic pinned Jeff following a counter to the Swanton Bomb.

Additional Developments

Shayna Baszler was revealed as Zoey Serrano's partner for Sunday's Knockouts World Tag Team Championship match.

Moose issued an open challenge for Bound for Glory.

Mustafa Ali and the former members of Order 4 exchanged heated words ahead of their International Championship four-way match.

Xia Brookside and Indi Hartwell delivered their final statements before their Knockouts World Championship match.

The Righteous attempted to recruit Harley Hudson.

Ricky Sosa and Eddie Edwards addressed their upcoming encounter.

syX attacked the Hardys during the closing moments, while Leon Slater was also found down following a blackout.

Final Thoughts

Thursday's Impact accomplished exactly what a go-home show should.

It made Sunday feel consequential.

The Nemeth Brothers retained their championships, but their victory did little to resolve the increasingly dangerous situation surrounding the Hardys and syX.

Shayna Baszler's arrival completely changed the complexion of the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship match.

Elayna Black came within seconds of winning a championship.

Joe Alonzo secured an enormous advantage in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet.

And Order 4 appears ready to settle its internal problems through considerably more than conversation.

But what stands out most to me is how many different kinds of stories TNA is bringing into Bound for Glory.

There's championship ambition.

There's betrayal.

There's unfinished business.

There's the opportunity for younger wrestlers to establish themselves against veterans.

And there's a genuinely unsettling situation involving two legendary brothers and a team that seems determined to destroy them.

That's the kind of variety I appreciate in professional wrestling.

Not every match needs the same motivation.

Not every rivalry needs the same structure.

Sometimes someone wants a championship.

Sometimes they want revenge.

And sometimes they just want to prove they belong.

TNA Bound for Glory takes place Sunday, October 11, 2026, in Tampa, Florida.

And after Thursday night?

There are quite a few people heading into that building with something to prove.
