TNA Bound For Glory Takes Shape: Nemeth vs. Slater Headlines Loaded Tampa Card
TNA Wrestling is officially just over one week away from its biggest event of the year.
Bound For Glory heads to the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida on Sunday, October 11, and following the latest episode of TNA iMPACT!, the card is looking increasingly stacked from top to bottom.
At the top is a match that feels as much about TNA's future as its present.
TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth will defend against Leon Slater, who surrendered the X-Division Championship through Option C to earn his opportunity. Should Slater defeat Nemeth, he would become the youngest TNA World Champion in company history.
And that's far from the only championship on the line.
Xia Brookside defends the TNA Knockouts World Championship against Indi Hartwell, while the vacant X-Division Championship will be decided in a six-way match featuring BDE, Rich Swann, KC Navarro, Fabian Aichner, Cedric Alexander and Ryan Nemeth.
The International Championship picture has become considerably more chaotic as well. Mustafa Ali defends against Special Agent Zero, Jason Hotch and John Skyler in a four-way championship match.
Then there's The Hardys.
After weeks of mystery surrounding the attacks throughout TNA, Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw revealed themselves as Syx — and Matt and Jeff Hardy aren't waiting around for another attack. The two teams will collide at Bound For Glory in a Falls Count Anywhere Match, which feels particularly appropriate considering the four men involved.
Eddie Edwards vs. Ricky Sosa is also official, while the annual Call Your Shot Gauntlet returns with a future championship opportunity hanging in the balance.
Mickie James is set to appear and rumors circulating about a former TNA Tag Team may make an appearance as well...
There's a little bit of everything here: established names, rising talent, championships, stipulations, and wrestlers being given opportunities to move themselves into an entirely different position within TNA.
That's what a company's biggest show of the year should feel like.
TNA Bound For Glory takes place Sunday, October 11 from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. Doors open at 3 p.m. ET, the Countdown begins at 4 p.m. ET, and the main card begins at 5 p.m. ET.
See you there...
