TAELER: LIV For That Moment

LIV For That Moment

There are wrestlers who wait for their moment. There are wrestlers who chase it. And then there are wrestlers like Liv Morgan, who seem to spend their careers fighting tooth and nail to make sure the moment can't pass them by. I love that energy!

I met Liv Morgan for the first time at my WWE tryout in 2015, just two days before my birthday. She was real and down to earth. She told you how it is whether you liked it or not. I immediately gravitated towards that vibe myself.

Over the years we crossed paths multiple times at WWE, and since then I've watched her grow into the performer she is today, still that same real, zero-f's, tells-it-how-it-is energy. She takes nothing for granted and she earns her way. I love seeing that authenticity in a business built on facades...

Years ago, I wrote a piece called “LIV For That Moment.” At the time, Liv Morgan was still fighting to prove that the potential so many of us saw in her could become something more. More opportunities. More championships. More moments. And more importantly, that she was worth believing in. A well-earned opportunity to take that moment and run with it.

A lot has changed since then. And here I am, still in her corner.

Liv isn't the wrestler waiting for someone to finally give her an opportunity anymore. She's a former Women's World Champion, a Money in the Bank winner, a WrestleMania-caliber name, and someone who has repeatedly found ways to reinvent herself when the landscape around her changes. This is something I've spoken a lot about. You either have this talent or you don't. And Liv? She's definitely got it.

And yet, heading toward Money in the Bank, Liv Morgan once again finds herself fighting for a moment. For THAT moment...

Stephanie Vaquer ended Morgan's latest Women's World Championship reign on September 12 in Santiago, Chile. Becky Lynch served as special guest referee, and saying things didn't exactly end impartially would be an understatement. Liv had Vaquer down following Oblivion, only for Lynch to stop her count at two. Vaquer ultimately capitalized and walked away Women's World Champion.

Liv has since dubbed it the “Santiago Screwjob.”

Now there's one person standing between her and the opportunity to get that championship back: Becky Lynch.

On Monday Night Raw, Morgan and Lynch will meet with the winner earning the right to challenge Vaquer for the Women's World Championship at Money in the Bank.

There's something wonderfully fitting about Liv's road leading back here.

Money in the Bank changed her career. In 2022, she climbed the ladder, grabbed the briefcase and cashed it in later that same night to finally become SmackDown Women's Champion. It was one of those wrestling moments where years of frustration, near-misses and fans refusing to stop believing in someone suddenly paid off all at once.

But this Liv Morgan doesn't need a briefcase to prove she belongs anymore.

That's what makes Monday interesting.

She's already had the moment. Several of them, actually. She's held championships. She's been booed. She's been cheered. She's evolved, stumbled, rebuilt herself and reached the top again. How can you hate that grit? That passion and gumption? The guts to try something new, stumble back up, and then own it?

The question now isn't whether Liv Morgan can have A MOMENT anymore.

It's what she'll do to get the NEXT ONE. How far is she willing to go?

Because sometimes that's the hardest part of professional wrestling. Getting there once is difficult enough. Staying relevant long enough to keep finding reasons for people to care about what happens next? That's an entirely different fight.

Years later, maybe that's what LIV For That Moment means now.

Not waiting for one.

But instead creating another. With or without permission...
