El Hijo del Vikingo Undergoes Successful Second Knee Surgery

El Hijo del Vikingo has another hurdle behind him.

The AAA standout underwent another surgery on his injured knee this week, later sharing the good news with fans that the procedure was successful.

“God is with me, I can't lose,” Vikingo wrote on social media while thanking everyone for their support following the operation.

Vikingo has been sidelined since suffering a torn ACL in his left knee while preparing for a scheduled NXT match against EK Prosper in late June. The injury ultimately required surgery in July and forced Vikingo to relinquish the AAA Latin American Championship.

His recovery had seemingly been progressing well. Vikingo shared encouraging rehabilitation updates in September and said his doctors were impressed with his progress, making the news that another operation was necessary particularly disappointing.

Exactly why Vikingo required the additional procedure has not been publicly disclosed. More importantly, there is currently no confirmed updated timetable for his return, so it's probably best not to start circling dates on the calendar just yet.

It's a frustrating road for someone whose wrestling style asks an incredible amount of his body. But for now, the important news is positive: the surgery was successful, Vikingo is through another step in the recovery process, and hopefully the next update brings him a little closer to doing what he does best.
